Selina A. Poliquin lmt, thai, cpc
I am a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Board Approved Massage Instructor and member of The National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. I am also recognized as a Government Certified Teacher and Practitioner of Thai Massage and Bodywork with my Thai massage training completed at "The Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai" in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2013. I also continue my training with Thai Yoga Massage training with Thai master, Eric Spivack of Soaring Crane Thai Massage & Acupuncture in Seattle, WA. As part of my training I must give my instructor a Thai massage and this was his evaluation of my work, in July 2019.
"The quality of Selina’s touch is excellent. It’s firm, yet caring. She effectively contoured her hands and feet to my body to ensure a perfect fit and the pacing for the session is ideal. Slow enough for grounding my Vata yet varied to help stimulate and move the stagnant energy. The variety of poses is excellent and she did a great job at listening to my body and breath, especially with stretches. Over all, I felt balanced and grounded and I was very impressed with her session".

~ My Forms of Thai Bodywork & Alternative Applications ~
Applications of my work include the use of my hands, fingers, forearms, elbows, knees and feet and may include traction, compression, stretching, positional poses and body positioning. With Thai Massage you may be laying on your back, your stomach, your sides or seated and at times, rocking and jostling may be used to induce a relaxed state within the body for better release of the many areas and tissues of the body.
The work we will do together will improve your range of motion and your flexibility, increase circulation, break up adhesions from old or new injuries and surgeries, decrease stress and chronic or acute pain. In many instances, people find that pain is no longer a part of their daily lives. Spiritually speaking, many find this form of bodywork brings balance to the chakras and natural energy pathways throughout the body’s systems. The level and depth of pressure may at times be slightly uncomfortable but at no time is the body ever forced into a position, a stretch or a prolonged position that it is not yet ready to accept or accomplish.
As with any new activity, there must be a starting point and we will work together to discover where that is based on the condition of your body’s level of flexibility and the condition of the tissues. We will communicate during each session and continue to adjust the bodywork as your body advances in it’s state of health, flexibility and with your desired outcome goals in mind. I will also teach you how to continue working with your body between our sessions for maintenance and continued benefits for improvement. I respect the individuality in each body of each person I work with and I am professionally experienced and intuitively skilled enough to adjust to the needed work and applications of my clients.
While I am working with you using Thai or Swedish Massage as your chosen form of massage I may use these other alternative forms of therapy also depending on your desired outcome:
Trigger Point Therapy
Myofacial Release Therapy
PNF Techniques (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)
Cross-Fiber Friction Therapy
Tager Therapy
Aromatherapy
*For Thai Massage we will work together on a traditional Thai mat that can be heated and on the floor. You will be wearing your own clean, non see-through, stretchy or loose fitting long legged pants with long or short sleeved shirt. Please bring only clean, pet free and perfume free clothing.
Thank you!
