Applications of my work include the use of my hands, fingers, forearms, elbows, knees and feet and may include traction, compression, stretching, positional poses and body positioning. With Thai Massage you may be laying on your back, your stomach, your sides or seated and at times, rocking and jostling may be used to induce a relaxed state within your body for better release of the many body areas and tissues.
The Thai work we will do together will improve your range of motion and your flexibility, increase circulation, break up adhesions from old or new injuries and surgeries, decrease stress and chronic or acute pain. In many instances, people find that pain is no longer a part of their daily lives. Spiritually speaking, many find this form of bodywork brings balance to the chakras and natural energy pathways throughout the body’s systems. The level and depth of pressure may at times be slightly uncomfortable but at no time is the body ever forced into a position, a stretch or a prolonged position that it is not yet ready to accept or accomplish.
As with any new activity, there must be a starting point and we will work together to discover where that is based on the condition of your body’s level of flexibility and or, the condition of the tissues. We will communicate during each session and continue to adjust the bodywork as your body advances in it’s state of health, flexibility and with your desired outcome goals in mind. I will also teach you how to continue working with your body between our sessions for maintenance and continued benefits for improvement. I respect the individuality in each body of each person I work with and I am professionally experienced and intuitively skilled enough to adjust to the needed bodywork and applications of my clients.
While I am working with you, I may use these other alternative forms of therapy also depending on your desired outcome:
Trigger Point Therapy
Myofacial Release Therapy
PNF Techniques (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)
Cross-Fiber Friction Therapy
Tager Therapy
Aromatherapy

A fellow classmate experiencing Thai Fire Massage (Yam Khang) from a temple monk outside of Chaing Mai, Thailand. Yam Khang is a traditional Thai massage style of the Lanna peoples of Northern Thailand. A glowing bucket of hot coals is prepared and a thin piece of metal is set on top of the metal bucket over the hot coals. Then the monk or massage giver dips one foot into sesame oil (or other favored oil) and just before masaging and pressing their foot over the recipients body, they quickly pass it over and onto the top of the hot metal plate, heating the sole of their foot along with the oils. Thai herbs such as plai (it is similar to ginger) and other herbs are also used in the massage application. It is a warming and healing experience.
Below is a poster of rules that was posted outside of some of the temples
I visited while going to school in Thailand.
